Some good points here - main one being most trade show organizers continue to struggle with data collection, data management, client segmentation and anything dealing with the web.

What is ironic is that the web helps these businesses with all of these items but I can only name a few companies that are anywhere close to maximizing the power of the web to improve their trade shows and user experience for both attendee and exhibitor.

Does anyone know any trade show websites that are truly proactive and helpful beyond the provision of simple show information, registration and links to hotels?

The Consumer Electronics Show - www.cesweb.org - has always been industry leading and should be studied by the many trade show organizers still fumbling with their online efforts.

Any others?

Read my recent post on RFID tagging which is an amazing breakthrough for trade show organizers that should see traction in Asia this year and when it does it will truly move the market.
